CURIOUS ORANGE
Whilst Solidarity were fighting Communism with trade unionism, the Alternative Orange movement used surrealist tactics, such as spray-painting gnomes on censored graffiti.
In the post-Communist era, homage is paid by the siting of little bronze gnomes around Wrocław, like these on ul. Świdnicka.
ORANGES ARE NOT THE ONLY FRUIT
Wrocław's Hala Targowa (literal translation: 'bargain hall') is a riot of colour, stocked to capacity with all manner of fresh fruits and vegetables, and no queues in sight.
This is indeed a post-Communist era.
WROCŁAW IN ORANGE
Here are the Town Hall and St. Elizabeth's Church illuminated in orange, as seen from the Penitents' (or Witches') Bridge between the towers of St. Mary Magdalene Church.
According to legend, the bridge is haunted at night by the ghosts of sinners who once grumbled and moaned while sweeping it.
