SOUTHWEST FROM MONTAÑA PELADA

To the northeast of El Médano is the broad, dormant volcanic crater of Montaña Pelada. To the west is the towering red promontery of Montaña Roja and its smaller neighbour, Montaña Bocinegro. Further west is Playa de la Tejita.

This is El Médano from Montaña Pelada.

Phespirit stands on the summit of Montaña Bocinegro. Behind him is the much steeper Montaña Roja, which he tackled next.

His sandals were not best for hiking.
