Phespirit goes to Georgia

DAVIT GAREJA - LAVRA

The Lavra monastery complex is the part of Davit Gareja that is once more inhabited by monks. Indeed, when Phespirit visited they had the builders in to make it more suitable for their modern needs.

Most shun contact with outsiders, though.

DAVIT GAREJA - UDABNO

Udabno is located on the Azerbaijan-facing side of Davit Gareja, still inside Georgia.

It is not permanently inhabited, but this old refectory was briefly occupied by Phespirit, his guide and their driver for a nice picnic.

DAVIT GAREJA - PHESPIRIT

Back on the Georgia-facing side, Phespirit stopped to pose in front of the outstanding Georgian scenery whilst on the descent to Lavra.

Even the clouds were beautiful.
